Madeline is a young lyric soprano commended for her ‘remarkable vocal talents.’ (Planet Hugill) She trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and continues her studies under the tutelage of John Evans.
From 2023-2024, she has performed the roles of Volpino (Lo Speziale, Haydn) with Bampton Classical Opera, Zerlina (Don Giovanni, Mozart) with Cumbria Opera Group, Johanna (Sweeney Todd, Dibdin Pitt) with Opera della Luna, Gontran (Une Education Manquée, Opera South) and debuted two world premieres: Virginia (The Masque of Vengeance, Lambert, 2023) and Paris (The End of the World Party, Hull Urban Opera, 2024.) In 2023 she was nominated for an Off West End Award for her performance as Rose Maybud in Ruddigore at Wilton’s Music Hall, described by The Stage as: “a perfectly placed soprano voice that goes from sweetness to steel… she has delicious comic timing.”
In 2025 she is thrilled to return to Opera Holland Park as a Young Artist in their 5* production of Dove’s Itch as Jack Lofte.
Awards whilst training include Essex Young Musician of the Year, the Cameron Smith French Song Prize, the Hurn Court Opera Competition Roger Higgins Prize, and third place in the prestigious Mario Lanza Opera Competition.
